Credit Card Debt in Bankruptcy

Credit card debt is common in bankruptcy.  Many chapter 7 bankruptcy petitioners fall victim to high interest rates and easy access to credit cards.  In fact, most chapter 7 bankruptcy petitions include some credit card debt.  However, discharging credit card debt in bankruptcy is not always guaranteed.  To discharge the credit card debt it cannot have been incurred fraudulently.  If you knew that you were going to file for bankruptcy while you were charging up your credit cards a bankruptcy filing soon thereafter may be jeopardized.  Learn more about credit cards and bankruptcy fraud.
